Please be advised that the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has notified DP World they will be taking industrial action which will impact on vessels working at the DPW terminals over the Christmas period. This includes stoppages in both Fremantle and Brisbane and various labour restrictions in all ports.

Shipping Lines operating in the Europe to the Australian trade lanes have advised, following their regular review of Bunker Fuel Prices and based on calculations performed, revised BAF’s will be implemented for services sailing from Europe to Australia effective from 1st January 2012 or the nominated vessel. We have been advised by Fremantle Ports that they have reached an agreement with the employees who were planning a work stoppage. The industrial action that was scheduled for 10th December until 14th December has now been withdrawn.

Please be advised that the Ports of Auckland in New Zealand have received notification from the Maritime Union of New Zealand (MUNZ) that they intend to hold strike action twice in the coming weeks due to a disagreement with their Collective Agreement.
