DP WORLD TERMINALS - MUA INDUSTRIAL ACTION UPDATE

Please be advised that the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has notified DP World they will be taking industrial action which will impact on vessels working at the DPW terminals over the Christmas period. This includes stoppages in both Fremantle and Brisbane and various labour restrictions in all ports.

The National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme is a co-regulatory Scheme established by the Product Stewardship (Televisions and Computers) Regulation 2011. Shipping Lines operating in the Europe to the Australian trade lanes have advised, following their regular review of Bunker Fuel Prices and based on calculations performed, revised BAF’s will be implemented for services sailing from Europe to Australia effective from 1st January 2012 or the nominated vessel. Please refer to the attached notice.

FREMANTLE PORTS INDUSTRIAL ACTION - STOPPAGE WITHDRAWN

We have been advised by Fremantle Ports that they have reached an agreement with the employees who were planning a work stoppage. The industrial action that was scheduled for 10th December until 14th December has now been withdrawn.

We have been advised by Fremantle Ports that their vessel traffic service employees and small craft operators have notified of intent to take two consecutive 48 hour stoppages as they have not reached an outcome in their Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. Please refer to attached notice.

Please be advised that the Ports of Auckland in New Zealand have received notification from the Maritime Union of New Zealand (MUNZ) that they intend to hold strike action twice in the coming weeks due to a disagreement with their Collective Agreement. Mediation has not been successful between the parties at this stage. Please refer to attached notice for further details.
