The Malaysian peninsular is situated on the south-eastern tip of Asia, and its ports along the Malacca Straits - one of the most important sea passages in the world - make it the gateway to 21st century Asia. The ports of Port Klang, Johor and Penang handle more than 3.76 million TEU, and analysts predict that this figure will be easily surpassed through the three facilities in the coming years.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport, with its fully automated cargo storage and retrieval facilities, handles an initial 650,000 tonnes of cargo and has room for expansion to one million tonnes and eventually to three million tonnes a year. To ease cargo movement, the airport has been made a Free Commercial Zone and is expected to become the region's air cargo Transhipment centre.
